Last year at a rally in Coeur d'Alene, ID promoting awareness about the 2nd amendment I approached a woman from a bike riders club about her presentation on materials she and her group deemed inappropriate that are available at a public library. It took me a long time to decide to post this but I feel the conversation is important. We have many insisting we not tell women what to do with their bodies reproduction wise, but those same people seem to think that what we do with our minds is all theirs.
I think one option would be to make that book 18+, meaning their parent can borrow it and read it to their child if they want to. I'm never in favour of censorship but some messages and content is not for children. That's undeniable. The question is just where to draw the line. I think making some material available only to people of the age of majority could be an acceptable compromise.
Personally, I will be teaching my children that cops are not necessarily their friends. I wish it could be another way, but that's not reality anymore. For me, it has nothing to do with my ethnicity or culture, but everything to do with my understanding of the issue and experiences I've been through.
I'm 100% not against good cops. It's just that many of them unfortunately are not good, and I don't trust their employers.
