Is Morale Building Bad?

So, you are a person who has some kind of dilemma on what to do with yourself and your life - now what? If you've been going through some kind of personal crisis or are just in the middle of one then perhaps moralizing is not for you. However, if you're like most of us and you have no one to really depend on but yourself then maybe moralizing might be the solution to your problem.

Why would you want to be moralizing? You ask? Because when you are moralizing you are thinking of what to do with your life. Now, if you find yourself in a place where you are doing nothing with your life and you are merely floating through it then you might as well be dead. If you find yourself with all kinds of debt and problems that are weighing you down then perhaps moralizing isn't for you. If you find yourself feeling sad and depressed and still can't seem to find the light at the end of the tunnel then perhaps this is not the right time for moralizing.

What will you do? Will you sit around and wait for answers from some external source? Will you accept that things are as they are and simply live with it because you don't feel like doing anything? No way! Of course you aren't going to just sit there and wait for the world to stop working for you, are you?

No! You will get up and do something about it! You will take responsibility for your own happiness and your own actions and decisions. You will find that by being moral you are actually quite independent because you are choosing what you want to do rather than being told what to do by someone else. Morality doesn't follow people around like a dog following its master but it comes naturally to most of us and works for us.

Don't misunderstand me; I am not saying that morality is right. I'm just saying that it's important to make sure you have a good foundation to stand on. If you don't have a good foundation, you will find yourself being torn between right and wrong very easily. And believe me, being torn between what is right and wrong is no fun. So I would suggest to anyone who is torn between what is right and what is wrong, that you take the time to really think about what you are doing and why. You will find that when you start focusing on that part of yourself then morality really begins to make sense to you can begin to use it to gain happiness and peace of mind.

Another good reason to be moralizing is that it gets you thinking about right and wrong in the context of your daily life. When you start focusing on what you should be doing in every situation rather than what is right or wrong, you will begin to see the connections between situations and how they affect you in your life. It's all about taking action and taking responsibility for your actions. And once you start doing that it becomes natural to do more of them because your thoughts become easier to control and because of the additional good that comes out of them!

Yet another reason to be moralizing is that it gives you the opportunity to find your own place in the larger scheme of things. It makes you realize that although other people's actions affect your life so greatly and you are there to try to remedy the situation whenever possible, you still have your own place in the scheme of things. This is great! It shows you how to be empathic and understanding of other people's situations.

When you are moralizing always remember that others also have their place in the scheme of things. They have their own dreams and goals, and they will pursue them regardless of whether you like them or not. They are not trying to separate you from your goals and dreams by acting in a defensive way. Their role is simply to guide you towards your own path. You can't be one with everyone in the world if you continue to be defensive and critical of everyone and everything in your life.
