A Crusade For Kindness - One Man's Obsession to Save a Life

Among the slew of books on my bookshelf, Kathryn Stockett's A Crusade for Kindness: One Man's Obsession to Save a Life in Australia was one of my favorites. Aside from its thoughtfully crafted narrative, the book is awash with endearing and awe-inspiring quotes from the author herself. The book may not be for everyone, but it is certainly worth a read. Regardless of age group, it is sure to inspire a sense of civic duty.

The best part about A Crusade for Kindness is that the author has taken the time to explain what he has learned to anyone who will listen. Aside from the obligatory thank you note, he has been candid about what it is like being a single mom with three kids.

He has also been remarkably gracious in the way he has handled himself. Moreover, his openness about his plight has made him a welcome addition to our family. As a result, my children are now more than a little bit less cynical about their dad. This translates into a more positive relationship and a better home life overall.
