Today I want to share with you an experience I had on a road I don't usually travel on. After finishing my daily work, I decided to run an errand for my mother and took Avenida Santa Catalina, located in the 10 de Octubre municipality. This wide avenue is surrounded by lush vegetation, something I really appreciate in the urban environment. Not only does it help maintain cleaner air, but it also offers a relaxing view. The trees that adorn the city provide a special charm.
As I walked down the avenue, I saw in the distance an imposing tower rising above the leafy trees, on top of a hill. She was so captivating that I couldn't take my eyes off her until I arrived at the Church of Saint John of Bosco. This church is located between La Sola and Goss streets, in the Víbora neighborhood. I stopped to capture photographs of this place, focusing especially on its tower, which stood very robustly above everything.
As I approached, I could see that the entrance to the church was slightly set back from the sidewalk, leaving room for parking. However, what really caught my attention was that unlike what is usual in this type of construction, the door was at ground level. The sequence of arches at the entrance is very beautiful, I love arched entrances. But, it was the tower that stole the show. Although some might consider it disproportionate to the size of the church, for me it was precisely that peculiarity that made it interesting and attractive. Its architecture features finely crafted structural motifs, with Gothic elements that add a touch of mystery and charm. At the top of the tower stands a majestic bell tower.
I continued on my way, but before leaving I took a photo of a small park in front of the church. In the center of this park there is a large ceiba tree that stands majestically, giving a special atmosphere to the environment. I feel grateful for the opportunity to witness and share these photographs with you.
