New Chicken Coop

This morning I made a chicken coop. I plan to breed more chickens. I have two chickens that lay eggs everyday. I learn a lot of things how to breed chickens. The knowledge helps me decide to breed more chickens.

I bought some bamboos in a bamboo seller. He had a lot of bamboos with different size. I bought the medium size. I bought two sticks of bamboo. A stick of bamboo with a medium size was 25,000 IDR. It was around $1.6.

A bamboo stick was 6 meters long. Then, I had the bamboo cut. It was difficult to bring a long bamboo on a motorcycle. By cutting 2 metters long, It was easier to be brought by my motorcycle.

The bamboo seller was not far from my house. It was around 15 minutes ride. After I arrived home, I continued to cut the bamboo to size that I want.

I made fence to protect my chickens from jumping out. I made the larger area than before because I planed to breed 10 to 20 new chickens.

The project was not done. I will continue tomorrow. After all fences are installed, I will buy DOC. I plan to buy the DOC on the online store. The price is cheaper.

My chickens always lay eggs. I feed them with mixture of food waste and factory feed. Why do I still need factory feed? Chickens need more calcium, minerals and protein. The food waste has no enough nutrition. Most of it is rice that only contains carbohydrate. The minerals and protein comes from the factory feed. So that, I can minimize the cost to feed my chicken by mixing factory feed and food waste. Now, the eggs production is only for consumption. I hope with 20 new chickens I can sell some of the eggs.
