The Gift of Being Present takes practice and conscious effort to execute new behavior. First must be to feel, to think, they have to be about what you feel. Be a listener: Sometimes we get caught up in stimulating activity, trying to make sense of what's happening, when all that really needs to be done is to listen. Be a listener: Sometimes life's most challenging events overshadow simpler daily tasks.

Slow Down: Take a breath, slow down, breathe in...
Be a Warrior: When life throws us curve balls we can't help but try to throw as hard as we can. But throwing successfully has different meanings for different people at different times. You may succeed because you thought you could and it worked for you or because luck was on your side. Be a Trader: Aim high for potential, but don't expect more than you can handle. Risk can be an exciting challenge.

Be an Evaluator: Watch what's happening around you and analyze your world and the choices you make. Look for patterns. Be alert for opportunities in difficult times. When you recognize something worth exploring, take the time to get there. Accept things that can't be changed, move on, figure out a different way.

Be a Reconciler: Reconciling with your inner self, with others, and with life, in general, is a vital part of living. Reconciling keeps you moving forward. When you can let go of the past and concentrate on the now, you're more likely to live a fulfilling life. Be a Therapist: Therapists can bring people together. Let them do that for you.

Be a Tracker: If something important does happen to you, mark it on your calendar. Set appointments to come and make sure they are done on time. Plan your days so you're not overwhelmed. A little planning now keeps the stress away.

Be an Organizer: Get your office or home organized. Get rid of unneeded clutter. Keep supplies handy so you have them when you need them. Keep records and plans handy to help you manage stress. Create action steps to deal with stressful events. Keep copies of important documents in a safe place.

Be a Resolution Maker: Resolutions are hard to make but when you do, be sure you're the person to do it. When a family member dies, be there for the funeral services. When a marriage ends, be there for the couple and their children. For major life changes, like a new baby arriving or a move, talk to friends and family about the options. You'll be amazed at how much support you can provide.

The Gift of Being Present: These gifts aren't just for adults anymore. Children are growing up and starting their own families. Take time to celebrate the uniqueness of your child as they grow up and are ready to take on their own lives. The gift of being there when they discover who they really are is precious.

The Gift of Hearing: Don't underestimate the importance of hearing. Get your child or another close loved one your Hearing Aid. Hearing aids don't stop noises from happening all they do is amplify them. Give them an auditory exam at least once a year to make sure they're in good health. It's a gift worth giving.

The Gift of Being nearby: Share your passions. Find your passions and interest. Learn more about them and share what you learn with others.

The Gift of Being Together: Many times people are together, yet at other times they are apart. Whether you are apart or not, find a way to be together. Plan activities that bring you together. Whether you plan a dinner party or a getaway, find a way to be together.

The Gift of Giving: The gift of giving is one of the best gifts anyone can ever receive. Make the gift of giving a real event by making it an event. Plan a surprise party for your friends or even give away business gifts during corporate parties to show appreciation.
