"Old key can't unlock new doors."
It was a short piece of advice that left me dumbfounded in no time. Yes, old keys cannot be used to open new doors. Said the advice.
Incidentally, the streets of Jakarta in the Sudirman area yesterday afternoon, just other afternoons.
Still crowded with cars, and motorbikes trying to slip through the crowded four-wheeled vehicles.
In fact, many ways have been taken, from separating motorcyclists into separate lanes, to getting rid of cars with odd plates on even dates or vice versa.
While occasionally looking at the left and right rearview mirror, I also peek at the other cars in front and behind.
Every now and then I was amazed, every time I was side by side with cars that felt more sophisticated than mine.
Spontaneously, I whispered to myself, "Don't be jealous. You're not fully grateful for what you have yet." So, the admiration did not turn into envy. Just amazed.
Even though I was surrounded by tons of other cars, my head was still filled with thoughts.
After getting rid of the jealousy that stems from admiration for other cars, I haven't managed to fully focus on just what is in front of my eyes.
The story on this street is similar, I think, to other parts of life's journey. When something should be enjoyed first, it often turns bland because the mind shifts too quickly.
When my car was still crawling along with thousands of other cars on the busy streets of Sudirman, my mind raced to a place that was too far away.
There is a mind that is having an affair with the beauty of desire. In fact, the mind is invited to just be loyal to reality.
It just wasn't easy. Like the many cars on the streets of Jakarta, everyone may wish that their journey to everywhere would be easier, apparently not easy.
Especially when some two-wheeled vehicles are more free to explore the density, they can be in places that are more forward.
I can imagine my first motorcycle, which faithfully accompanied me to explore the streets of Jakarta. The speed is indeed far behind my car and other cars. But, on many occasions, the moped is no less than the fastest cars.
Yes, especially in places where larger and faster vehicles can only crawl, the tiny moped was actually faster.
In a deadlock, sometimes what is needed is not all that is too big. Something small, less fast, but more free to move until in a narrow gap, could have been in front.
Back to the beginning of the story. About old keys, old keys, it's a matter of mind. Finally back to the side of sensitivity, which one is most in tune with the nearest reality, which one is more needed, if underestimated it might not lead anywhere.
For those who are used to passing Jalan Sudirman, I don't think they will deny that. Even the most expensive vehicles sometimes take hours just to reach a distance of only a few meters.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle, which if sold for only a few million, can go far ahead of the most expensive cars.
On the way, not only about the price. It's not always about which is more expensive in terms of price. There, finally what is most valuable is appreciating what you already have.
Nothing to be underestimated. There's nothing to belittle about. Because, anyone can come forward first. Especially those who know better which one is more appropriate to the situation.
