Copping out is easier than trying to fit in, as I find myself disagreeing with most everything in the current system.

I hear that. I'd be further out of "the current system", if my health was better and/or if I didn't have young children and/or if my wife wasn't crippled and sick. I didn't plan to be in this situation, but ...
As it is, I have never owned a smart device, and have been unbanked for a decade. I've tried to establish an income outside the system with Steem, Hive, and Blurt... but that hasn't worked out. I advocate PMs as private stores of intrinsic value. Growing a big garden. Doing the best I can with what I've got.
