I noticed something new on my Bitclout page today, it seems like a way to earn some money?
There are no details on the little announcement and so I decided to open the link "click here".
To my surprised, it opened a separate window and it turned out to be an identity verification page.
So what prompted this move from Bitclout?
I guess it's because of the current identity theft and content (artwork) plagiarism issues that are plaguing the platform right now. One of the major talks right now is the case of a Bitclout user TWNTYFOUR. This account is the creator of the Skelly NFT series which is now the main subject for the topic of "copy+pasta" artwork.

And the proof that pretty much sealed the case...
These NFTs have been bought for hundreds of USD worth $CLOUT, it's real money spent on these artworks. And the worst part is that there is no way for the buyers to refund them back from the seller.
The TWNTYFOUR account is a Bitclout verified user and an influential one.
The account could have just hired a digital artist to create an original artwork for the NFT series.
Anyway, back to the Bitclout KYC; I don't think of it as a solution to this solve this kind of case. In the digital world, the biggest challenge is to detect plagiarism especially if the account is clever enough to twist the artwork and remove any traces of it being detected as a "copY+Pasta" artwork.
Lastly, I didn't get the $10...
