Spring excursion in JEJU (part2_food)

in kr •  9 months ago

Following the post about my trip to Jeju last spring, I am posting about the food I ate in Jeju.

They say traveling is about eating! In order to eat well, I prepared thoroughly by taking digestive medicine and enzymes and checking out good restaurants on Instagram. lol

MAIN DISHES

Yeasodam (예소담)

Meat Noodles - Noodles topped with thick pork slices which One of Jeju’s representative foods; The thick braised pork in rich meat broth was excellent.

fried squid for side.

KIM-ManBOK (김만복)

Long queue for having abalone kimbap

Abalone kimbap - It looks like abalone ground up and mixed with rice (brown colored). It comes with seasoned squid, so it's worth a simple meal.

Baeng-di (뱅디)
Octopus rice bowl, Conch rice bowl, etc. - It's located along the beautiful coastal road, so I didn't get bored while waiting for about an hour. The conch rice bowl is better than the other menu.

Conch rice bowl is the best. :)

Bong-jamae (봉자매)
Bomal seaweed soup - It looks like an ordinary restaurant from the outside. Since I was a bit full, I tried Bomal seaweed soup only. Bomal is said to be the Jeju dialect for conch.

Daepo fish restaurant (대포횟집)
During holidays and peak seasons, it is difficult to make a reservation at famous fish restaurants, and they often run out of ingredients and close after only serving lunch. If we were late here too, we wouldn't have been able to eat dinner. lol

Since the sea bream is in season, let’s try the sea bream sashimi! The sashimi is fresh. just expensive. Cough

Goncheon-po diner (공천포식당)
specializing in various sea food & raw fish in cold broth - highly recommended. A house that needs no words and is loved by locals as well. The cost-effectiveness is also top-of-the-line. Usually goes out of business after lunch because it runs out of ingredients.

DESERT & CAFE

** Cafe Minam & Minyeo (미남미녀 까페)**

This cafe is famous for its tiramisu and bean jelly. We waited in front for over 2 hours but the tiramisu was sold out and there was only one bean jelly left. I was hangry!

Instead of tiramisu, we ordered grilled rice cake. It is dipped in grain syrup and berry jam.

Jeju ae-in (제주에인)

A cafe located in the corner of a large tangerine farm. The entrance is just a piece of wooden signage on the side of the road. It's the kind of place where you go into a narrow alley wondering what this is and your eyes widen when you discover a hidden place.

Anthracite Coffee (앤트러사이트)
A cafe set up in a renovated old sweet potato starch factory. It can be said to be a model of urban regeneration. The coffee and desserts are great, but the building itself is also a great source of inspiration.

Old traces of a large mill(?) remain here and there.
