It's a little late, but I'm posting a family travel story to Jeju last spring on the Hive. This is a very subjective and mostly photo records of my trip to Jeju Island.
Jeju island is one of the popular places for vacation and travel in Korea. Every year, millions of people visit the island since it has a unique natural environment and some cultural difference from the mainland of Korea.
The map above is a checklist of restaurants/attractions; I prepared thoroughly so that this trip would be an opportunity to experience Jeju Island more and eat the best local food as much as I can. lol
Departure from Gimpo Airport with an acrid smell and cloudy skies -> Arrival at Jeju Airport with blue skies, clear air, and refreshing sunshine.
Picked up a rental car at the airport, had a light lunch before get going. After the meal, we went for a cup of coffee while looking at the sea. The yellow building in the distance is a cafe called ‘Spring Day’. They say it became famous because it was the setting for a K-drama. It's right next to the sea, so the view is amazing.
Another Cafe nearby (owned by G-dragon; Korean Singer)
Came to Jeju ‘Spring Day cafe’ on a spring day, and enjoyed the spring day of my life.
The window seat overlooks the sea, and the sea view is great. As is the case everywhere in Jeju, there are a lot of people. Pls consider some extra time for waiting.
Every corner of the cafe. The cafe paid a lot of attention to space design. It's a painting that goes well with the sky. Is the sky the sea, or is the sea the sky? lol
Seong isidol farm - it was named following St. Isidore and founded by Irish priest Patrick James McGlinchey who came to Jeju Island in 1954 and established the farm.
It is said that they came to Jeju to spread faith in the Jeju area, which was devastated by the Korean War, but people in Jeju were so poor that missionary work was difficult. Therefore, this Irish missionary served as an opportunity to build a farm like this and create a local credit union to fight poverty in the Jeju area.
Moved to another religious space: Ark Church
The Ark Church because it was built in the shape of an ark (a large ship_Noah's Ark).
The ark resembled an image floating on water, and unlike other churches, the cross was impressive since it was not too huge but understated.
It is common to see barley fields spread out like this.
Another unnamed ranch visible in the distance. The words are very kind. I realize once again what a beautiful creature this is.
가슴이 탁 트이는 풍경이네요. 이 부근에서 맛있는 점심을 먹습니다. 먹자포스팅은 따로 하겠슴다.
A cafe after meal made us over 2hours waiting to get a table. This cafe is a reinterpretation of a shabby village house on the side of the road.
Food posting will be following soon.
