Akhir pekan lalu, Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata (KKB) kembali menyerang. Mereka melakukan aksi penembakan dan pembakaran di Distrik Ilaga, Kabupaten Puncak, Provinsi Papua.
Akibat serangan itu, seorang prajurit TNI dan seorang warga sipil tertembak. Yakni, anggota Kopasgat TNI AU Praka Fermansyah (29) dan seorang pekerja di PT MTT, Glen Sumampaw (30).
Meski begitu, Kapolda Papua Irjen Mathius D Fakhiri memerintahkan jajarannya untuk tidak mengejar KKB yang menyerang. Salah satu alasannya adalah Operasi Damai Cartenz yang sedang berlangsung di daerah itu.
Fakhiri menyebut, tujuan operasi itu adalah mengedepankan upaya pencegahan untuk bisa mengatasi keadaan di Puncak. Karenanya, ia meminta Bupati Puncak untuk lebih aktif lagi berkomunikasi dengan KKB.
Daerah-daerah yang sering menjadi sasaran kriminal bersenjata, sudah kita putuskan untuk kita kedepankan pemerintah daerah. Kejadian yang terjadi di Kabupaten Puncak, saya selaku Kapolda sudah melakukan komunikasi aktif dengan bupati untuk bisa mengontrol masyarakatnya," kata Fakhiri di Jayapura, Selasa (22/2/2022).
Fakhiri meminta personel gabungan TNI-Polri yang bertugas di Kabupaten Puncak untuk berjaga di sekitar pusat Kota Ilaga. Penjagaan itu untuk memastikan KKB tidak berulah ke daerah perkotaan lagi.
"Kami ingatkan tidak ada lagi pengejaran, kami akan mainkan parameter Kota Ilaga, sehingga kita memastikan gangguan itu tidak akan sampai di perkotaan lagi," ujarnya.
Sampai sejauh ini, pihaknya menganggap bahwa kondisi di Kabupaten Puncak pascaserangan pada akhir pekan lalu masih terkendali. Hal ini menjadi alasan pihaknya belum menambah kekuatan di daerah itu.

As a result of the attack, a TNI soldier and a civilian were shot. Namely, a member of the Indonesian Air Force's Kopasgat Praka Fermansyah (29) and a worker at PT MTT, Glen Sumampaw (30).
Even so, the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri ordered his staff not to pursue the attacking KKB. One of the reasons is the ongoing Operation Cartenz Peace in the area.
Fakhiri said the purpose of the operation was to prioritize prevention efforts to be able to overcome the situation at Puncak. Therefore, he asked the Regent of Puncak to be more active in communicating with the KKB.
We have decided to prioritize the local government for areas that are often the targets of armed criminals. The incident that occurred in Puncak Regency, I as the Regional Police Chief have been in active communication with the regent to be able to control the people," said Fakhiri in Jayapura, Tuesday (22/2/2022).
Fakhiri asked the joint TNI-Polri personnel on duty in Puncak Regency to guard around the center of Ilaga City. The guard is to ensure that KKB does not act in urban areas again.
"We remind you that there will be no more pursuit, we will play the parameters of Ilaga City, so that we ensure that the disturbance will not reach the cities again," he said.
So far, his party considers that conditions in Puncak Regency after the attack last weekend are still under control. This is the reason it has not added strength in the area.
