A Day by the Seaside: Embracing the Warmth of the Indian Ocean

Today marked another instance where my Actifit failed to log my activities. Undeterred, I decided to pen down a regular post to capture the essence of the day.

It was, yet again, a splendid beach day, basking in the warmth of the Indian Ocean with temperatures soaring around 30°C. The allure of the white sandy beaches in the Mombasa area is irresistible, reminiscent of fine powder beneath my feet. However, today presented an unusual challenge – the shoreline was adorned with a considerable amount of seaweed, both on the beach and in the water. Despite the seaweed presence, I plunged into the ocean, though it wasn't my preferred beach experience.

Nonetheless, the moment of leaving behind the ordinary routine and immersing myself in the sights and sensations of the beach was invigorating. The Indian Ocean, at 3° south, felt like a bathtub, offering a unique warmth that I had never encountered before. Reflecting on my travels, I've explored many seas, as you can see in the screenshot below, although I might have inadvertently omitted a sea or two from the list.

All in all, today was a gratifying day. As I bid farewell to the beach, my agenda for tomorrow involves running errands and packing, as the day after marks the conclusion of my six-month sojourn here. It has been a period of lacey time, characterized by its own intricacies and charm, as all chapters must.
