UN calls for blockchain to fight rampant corruption in Kenya

in kenya •  4 years ago

David Robinson, Regional Adviser for East Africa, The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), has urged the Kenyan government to use blockchain to discover economic crime.

Incorporating blockchain technology could help Kenya save billions of dollars that are wasted each year due to corruption, says the United Nations agency against drugs and crime.

Robinson believes this is the challenge blockchain technology can solve and ultimately restore lost trust in government.

“When corruption is a betrayal of trust, technology that enhances trust becomes an attractive solution in public projects,” he said.
