The Childe: A Kmovie that passed the vibe check.

Imagine entering a foreign country where everyone you come in contact with is gunning for your life and it's hard to figure out who's a friend and who's an enemy. Just think about that for a minute. Haha. It surely feels like a good story to enjoy on TV, but never something anyone would love to have a first-hand experience of.

Well, that's the experience one of the major characters had in this show. I don't know if this is a real-life thing but there is a generic name given to folks whose parents are half Korean and half Filipino. According to the story in this show, 'Kopino' is the name for such kids but it seems like the name only applies to those whose Dad got their Filipino Mum pregnant and abandoned her in the Philippines.

Feel free to give me clarity on that if you have more information about it.

Movie: The Childe

Genre: Action, Thriller

Release Date: June 21, 2023

Runtime: 118 min.

Language: Korean

The Kopino in this movie was searching for his father and ended up getting lured to Korea by people who mistook him to be the youngest son of a family of blood-thirsty and power-hungry conglomerates. As far as the Kopino is concerned, he's finally getting an opportunity to reunite with his father and hopefully get the money he will use to take care of his Mum's medical operation. However, each step he took the moment he landed in Korea was filled with pain and an intense struggle for survival.

The show is legit and I'm quite impressed with a lot of things about this show. Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Kdramas and I've also openly admitted to not being a fan of Korean movies. But, this particular one ticks so many boxes for me. It wasn't a concrete or complicated storyline. I think the story itself is quite casual and simple. However, the action sequences, the casting, and the flow of the story are incredibly amazing.

The trailer doesn't always tell the full story, but here is a fan-made teaser for your viewing pleasure. Hehe

As a Kdrama buff, I enjoyed seeing a lot of familiar faces in this movie. I've seen some of their Kdrama projects and it's interesting to see the likes of Kim Sun-Ho, Kim Kang-Woo and Go Ara performing action scenes on the big screen. It's been a while since they took up roles like this and I know I would enjoy seeing them in an action-packed Kdrama.

That's it, folks. Watching this movie today is one of the most inspiring things I did today. Feel free to fit that into your watchlist.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma.
