I just watched this Korean Movie within the week and I'm genuinely impressed with the work they did to give us a good combination of action, suspense, comedy and incredible casting. The movie is quite accomplished and there were some dramatic elements of surprise used to spice things up.

I've made it fairly obvious that I don't usually watch Movies. I prefer series and I usually focus on Kdrama because they go very deep when giving us the snowball experience that makes a story appealing and captivating. This particular one is just a Movie and it felt rushed in some ways. However, it counts as a fairly decent movie to check out and it also has some touch of history attached to it. I love histories. Hehe.

Here is a brief profile for the show;

Movie: Phantom

Genres: Action, Thriller, Historical, Crime

Release Date: January 18, 2023

Runtime: 133 min.

Language: Korean.

The Movie setting is 1933 when South Korea were still under the Colonial rule of Japan. The show highlights an anti-Japanese resistance group that planted their spies all over the country. The organization made an attempt to assassinate the Governor General who's a highly ranked Japanese Politician, but the assassination attempt was foiled.

To bring an end to the existence of the anti-Japanese resistance group, 5 people who were suspected to be part of the mysterious spy organization got transported and trapped in an isolated hotel where they were interrogated with the intent of getting a confession from them.

A confession that will subsequently lead to the full exposure of all their spies that infiltrated the government, identification of their Headquarters and total annihilation of every member of the organization. As things start to unfold in the isolated hotel, each of the 5 suspects used whatever they can lay their hands on to wittily try to escape while being suspicious and doubtful of the other suspects.

They have an interesting plot and I particularly like how some of the characters were switching up Korean and Japanese language. It was so smooth and they did that without allowing their accent to get in the way. I think you can get snippets about that in the trailer.

This is a Korean Movie and if I'm not mistaken, I believe both the Korean and Japanese characters were played by Korean actors. Their delivery of their lines is on point. If I wasn't such a big fan of Korean acting industry, I would have mistaken some of the actors to be Japanese. Their accent was that good.

I like to highlight that the two ladies who were part of the suspects got ruffled up during their combat scenes and they did an awesome job in the choreography of those scenes. Also, they did their stunts by themselves. No stunt double, whatsoever.

This movie was a fairly decent distraction from the series which I usually watch. I believe 7/10 is a fair rating for it. Now, I will head back to Kdrama World. Haha.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma.
