Today, May 5, is Dragon Boat Festival. In Japan, it is a national holiday known as Children's Day. On Tango-no Sekku, some households display "Gogatsu Ningyo," or Boys' Festival dolls with armor and helmets. Some households also display carp streamers. The wishes behind these decorations on Tango-no Sekku are meant to help boys avoid illnesses, accidents, and other calamities, and to wish for their healthy growth.

Kabuto (samurai helmets) and koinobori (carp streamers) can also be expressed with origami. I folded a Kabuto (helmet). Unfortunately, I didn't have any colored paper, so I made this Kabuto.
