Once again, it's time to celebrate! I'm so excited to announce that with some help from a good friend and a previous top steemit witness, I now have my very own Blurt witness running! It's a Travel Pro Witness and I'm thrilled to use this new position to help Blurt grow in all the right ways.
Not only do I have my witness running; I now have a detailed understanding and first hand experience of how to set up a witness and much more. I'm a "block producer", and it wasn't even all that difficult to set up. So a special thank you to my friend that took the time to help make this happen.
My deep dive into the world of tech, blockchain, code, servers, and more really gave me a new appreciation for all that the developers, @megadrive, and the other founders have been able to accomplish. Creating and implementing all that code takes some serious skill and level of understanding. So hats off to you guys and thank you for the endless amount of time and effort that you have already, and will continue to put into Blurt.
I also want to give a special thank you to @ctime, @mariuszkarowski, @wil.metcalfe (@comet.ranker), @drutter, and others who have made sizable investments in blurt giving the price and there for the blockchain value. As a witness, I promise to do all that I can to see our investments come out ahead.

I see that not only did you consider, you did vote for me! Thank you so much. Greatly appreciated. Yes, I agree that is something I too have been displeased with for a long time. Accounts like @jakeminlim which have not done a single post or comment in over two years, was sitting in a top twenty position for the longest time, collecting at 3 cent blurt for a while too. Looks like that kind of stuff has now come to an end and I believe Blurt has much better days ahead.
How do you feel about off-chain activities that affect the chain?
I stand with you on most of your main ideals. Marketing is legalized lying, manipulation, and fraud... 'no thanks' on that one :P

same here, especially since 10% of all tokens are 'fake', there is no reason to work for people that are dumping 'printed' tokens on market

But I was thinking if someone wanted to attend an event, create their own event, or even set up a kiosk in a mall promoting and signing people up for Blurt, maybe that could get funded. I was thinking it may be a great way to get the word out.
I'm not the best with definitions....is this marketing? Promotion? Frankly I don't know, but do you see something wrong with this type of thing? I simply see it as getting the word out about a great free speech platform and opportunity of investment.

Off chain activities...hmmmm, haven't thought about that much. I would say if they are good for blurt and transparent to as great of an extent as possible and approved by the community in general. That would sway my opinion greatly as I'd also take it on a case by case basis as well.
I already addressed the marketing concern below.
The Job description: On the tech side 99% will probably be me auto paying my server bill. So the rest would be up to me I suppose. I would say my top job would be influencing large decisions to be made correctly. Avoid errors that have a damaging effect on price and morale. To heighten morale and increase transparency, I'll probably be doing a weekly "Travel Pro State of The Blurt Address". This will also serve to keep the lines of communication open and keep the platform in the loop on anything of importance. I will also do what I can to build confidence in the investor and stability of the platform.
Pay is around 85 dollars a month or so after server fees at these prices for top 20. But I'd have to double check. Obviously it fluctuates with the price.
Benefits: is I get to now answer questions like these! hahaha
But seriously thank you for your support @drutter and @medikatie. You guys have been a lot of fun and a great addition to the platform. In all sincerity, we need more witnesses that are of like mind....that means you! I will personally do a live telegram chat or whatever you want and help you set up your server and get you started. No joke, when I say I'm pro business, that means I want you on my team. You have a lot to offer, and you have a whole audience of free speech and human rights enthusiasts that you are already networked into. You are very influential and to combine that with a witness position makes it more so. I think you would be doing yourself and Blurt a huge favor by starting your own witness. I would certainly vote for you.
So please let me know if you would like my assistance in setting up your own witness I have a feeling you too will be along side @outofthematrix and myself in short order.

Hey bro, getting to my comment replies after a few days, sorry about that.
Thank you for the info on your stance, and for offering to help me set up a witness. I will have to think about that as I get closer to having the hardware needed. I have to get through this forced move (ie find somewhere to live) before I can worry about a new PC. With health issues and kids I can only really handle one extra task at a time. Not to mention finances. If things go well, later this year looks like a possibility.

Is there any technical developments that you are going to push for as a witness? I'd like to see auto claiming of rewards rather than manually claiming.
At the moment I'm just playing things by ear, with a main focus on holding healthy relations together between all parties and interests. Aid in decision making that is healthy and positive unlike things we have seen in the past. Also I plan to keep a good line of communication open between me and my fellow bloggers/users as well as good line of communication open with the other witnesses and founders.
For example this issue has been on my radar since @drutter mentioned it not long ago. I'll do a survey post later this week for the community, and then take the results to the witnesses and we will see how things operate. Lets not forget I'm about as new of a witness as one can be, I'll do the best I can. I'm sure I'll be observing and learning much over the following weeks.

This is important (culturally) and serves as a way to connect Blurt's users with it's Witness's. Answering questions (even difficult ones) is also instrumental in further innovating the underlying technology that is the Blurt Blockchain AND it keeps minds open and engaged!
Thank you for leading out front in this way. This was severely lacking over on the Hive Blockchain (They don't like questions over there... it's like they have something to hide! hahaha!) so it's good to see that you are actively taking what you learned and applying those vital things here! 🙌
In regards to the topic. I think that Appics (hosted via the Telos Blockchain) auto deposits amounts to wallets and it seems to work great. There's certainly pros and cons to this approach though. Personally... I prefer to manually transact the deposit as I can then determine exactly how much I am earning weekly/monthly etc. when I go to click the button.
That's the thing about all advancements of the mind... It's a tricky balance between the pros and cons so each must be weighed.

Thank you for that as well as leaving such a well thought out comment. Your points are on target as usual, and thank you for voicing them. Healthy communication, engagement, and transparency from all sides is of great value and I'm happy to now be a new witnesses that will make this one of his main focuses. It will be interesting to see the response I get when I do a survey on the reward button topic. Personally I'm indifferent. Doesn't really matter either way to me however I must admit I do enjoy clicking that button! haha, regardless I do see both pros and cons, looking forward to seeing more from the community on this, and whatever else may come up.
