Before I begin my journey, allow me to thank first those people who in their generosity and diligence made me stumble upon this exciting and interesting platform. I think they deserve commendation if not at least an appreciation, of course coming from me. They are the following, olivia08, kneelyrac and g10a. I apologize not mentioning the other one because I honestly don’t know what your username was. Thank you guys for being an instrument for me to be immersed on this kind platform and use this as a tool to enhance my skills in writing.

Long time ago when Social Media was still new or should I say when our mode of communication was just an analog phones and email, Friendster was the only Social Media I’ve known which was really popular back then. Fast-forward to this day, Social Networking sites spring up like mushrooms and the rest was history.

By the way, my name is Rodel from the Philippines. I am 46 years old and I am also leaning towards loving the Crypto-world as they call it. I enjoy most of my free time checking my Social Media account, planting, singing and most of all cooking, because I love to eat. I also love to sketch anime characters but I was not born with talents in drawing but I’ll tell you a little secret, I just trace them using my computer’s monitor, LOLS. In my eagerness to draw some of my favorite anime characters, I came up with the idea of tracing it. I know, in a perfect world, tracing your arts is a deception. But I really love looking at those arts which I traced and learned to finish some of the missing details or inconsistencies. Though I am just tracing it, I also find it quite difficult perfecting the details because somehow, you will be on your own.

I was a former Customer Service Representative in an International Account catering both American and Australian customers. Being employed to a Business Process Outsourcing industry is really challenging because you need a lot of patience and understanding. Must be knowledgeable to your crafts and a determined spirit. I also love to write but my inhibitions to writing kept me in the corner and did not pursue to develop it. Instead, I resigned to the notion that writing or blogging is not for me. My anxieties kept me at bay and lingered until my desire is no longer an option to pursue writing. I am afraid to people who might see my blogs and laughed at my grammar lapses and put a mockery in the comment section. This story may appear cliché, an exaggerated sentiments and overly emotional but that’s how I felt. There were times when people are overly semantics and pedantic to everything you say and write, who else wants to communicate? Be it spoken or written.

Anyways, since Pandemic, I was obliged to stay at home because I was a Person with Disability and prone to sickness. Due to the nature of my previous occupation (mostly graveyard shift), overtime, I became hypertensive and my heart was enlarged. My kidneys were affected as well and both are in stage 3 Renal disease. My doctor told me if my blood pressure is uncontrolled and do not stop eating salty food, in ten years I will be on a dialysis. This is really my second chance to life. Back in October of 2016, on my way to work, I was in a van when I was unable to breathe. I was rushed to a nearby hospital, lost my consciousness, was on the verge of a life and death situation but I was revived, I survived. It is not my time yet to depart. I am so thankful and grateful to God for this gift of second chances. I want to be remembered successful and not for being an underpaid, stressed, exhausted and overburdened old man. Believe me, life is short and fleeting. Save whatever you can for your future and enjoy life but in moderation. Most of all include God in every decision we make. Take it from me!

This Pandemic struck us so hard and it took a toll on everyone. I am glad that this kind of platform existed and puts back our sanity and create an opportunity to earn. Though this is not a get-rich quick platform, this could really help us a lot. Your reward will be based on your consistencies and persistence. Blurt, as I see it is an avenue to showcase your talents to writing and what not. I am not perfect in terms of my English communication skills; I have a lot of opportunities and mistakes when it comes to grammar usage and I do hate myself sometimes because I am not confident. But one thing is for sure, in the eyes of many and in the eyes of the world, nothing can stop us to do what we think is right and can give us true happiness. Blurt is here to stay no matter what. No amount of negativity from people who doesn’t believe in this kind of platform can destroy its image. I am a believer. This kind of platform is not new to me. I was once a skeptical freak despite invitation and encouragement by a friend whom I consider one of my bestfriends. Real talk: I will accept the invitation so as not to hurt my friend but will eventually put everything down the drain. I am not that person anymore. I have learned my lesson so hard it hit me from the top and to the abyss. The world as we know it, will open its heart and soul one day and people will see the opportunity that this platform can offer.
