I'm introducing myself but I'm not really new here - I've been here for a little while as @the-gorilla but want to distance my activity here from my activity on other chains and since I like to catch those pesky plagiarists, I opted for "Inspector Blurt".
I also have no issue sharing with you that I am one of the Blurt Wardens.
When @saboin / @world-travel-pro quotes a warden in this post, it was me who said it.
I have a background in identifying plagiarised content which is the only thing that I'll ever be recommending for COAL and on a personal level, fairness, honesty and most importantly, freedom are at the core of who I am. Freedom being the operative word in identifying what does and doesn't make me happy.
As @drutter correctly points out in his comment to @world-travel-pro's post, I wasn't elected. I was asked to join the team but at no point was there any kind of voting to say "should @the-gorilla be in this team". I also like to find problems and solve problems which is perhaps how I got drawn to unmasking plagiarists in the first place!
I'm happy to be in this team and I see no reason to take @drutter's "problem finding" personally. It's a human-driven system and humans are flawed so there will undoubtedly be challenges along the way but I'm confident that we'll do good for Blurt - irrespective of mine or your views on COAL.
Having worked with automated systems too and seen people try to combat plagiarism with automated tools, I also know their flaws and that hard work by humans will be more accurate (and therefore fairer) than any automation.
I'll also accept "not being accepted" and if you don't think that I should be involved for whatever reason, I can accept that. Just try to be nice about it 🙂

As I mentioned in my recent post you just visited, Coal is a courtesy that the owners of the private front end Blurt Blog have extended to the community. Doing so I assume as a means to create an understanding they don't wish to be seen as dictators despite their legal tightrope they walk being that it's their property/responsibility from a legal and financial standpoint, not the Blurt blockchain.
As a courtesy that didn't have to be extended but was, I believe they then took another great step forward and based on the now four of you involved selected a diverse yet respected pool to represent the independent warden positions.
Welcome back (again).
Another example of communication on Blurt that needs to be rolemodled after. You have my full support. Thank you for stepping up along with @saboin and sharing this important information.
I personally have looked at the coal list now, and it looks to me that you are doing a good job and a fair and honest job. I commend you on your work and happy you are part of the team. Reblurted!
Thank you for the vote of confidence 👍

@the-gorilla uses upvu.
You know I don't like that.
In my opinion it is poison for any blockchain.
You can already see with Blurt how especially Asian accounts only work via upvu and it's only about making money, but the content benefit for the quality of Blurt is zero.
Everyone knows what it looks like with Steemit....
Do you think that will affect my ability to identify plagiarised content?
No, I don't think so.
I think the bigger Blurt gets, the harder it will be to contain plagiarism.
I would appreciate that people who care about Blurt,
to give up Upvu.
I agree - I also think that as Blurt grows and its users are familiar with how Blurt handles plagiarism, they will feel empowered to highlight it and try to educate those "on the wrong path".
