I am Rev. Fr.Ike Ahman. A catholic priest of the catholic diocese of Idah, Kogi State, Nigeria. The pilgrimage of life is a tale of grace and graft given from above and each individual’s ability to graft oneself by corporation into the pattern of providence. That same providence smiled upon the family on Mr and Mrs Michael Ahman in the great gift of a son who happens to be the last of seven (7) children on the 6th of April 1985. Will this son grow up to be a noble man or an ignoble fellow? Like all mothers do, Mrs Catherine Ahman ( My Mother ) did pray that her son’s step may not falter from the path of grace.

I attended primary and secondary school like every child and after my secondary school in St. Kizito Minor Seminary Iyegu, Idah, Kogi State, Nigeria., I applied and was admitted into St. Thomas Aquinas major Seminary, kanshio, Makurdi, Benue State Where I studied for the catholic priesthood , graduating with Bachelor degrees in Philosophy and theology.

My Philosophy of Life: live and let others live:
Nothing takes the place of charity in Christian life.
I am a lover of football. I also enjoy reading and helping people so much.

The call to serve

The desire to be of service to God and his people as a catholic priest was a call of selfless service to humanity. After my seminary training, I was ordained 12th July 2014.
I care deeply and largely about people and humanity and I am always moved towards humanity and humanitarian services in every community I work which is my life’s calling. I make efforts to make life better, help the less privileged and the poor of whichever community I find myself working with whatever resources that is available at my disposal.

My community of Christ faithful is largely rural ! The community is not gifted with influential people, there’s no government presence in this community . Agriculture is the major source of income in this community.
From our little savings we are able to establish certain structures that will better the life of the community .
As a pastor among the people , I have tried to always be the team lead , not dominating them nor imposing my way on them , but championing the cause for a new era of life which I believe can be achieved through hard work .
Day and night we have worked round the clock , and by the special grace of God , our works bear fruits in the accomplishments we have already gained .

In my few years of the priesthood, God has used me to help all the communities I have worked so far and God has proven thus far in me, a helper and leader with a vision, an incisive and fearless preacher, a helper with an invincible determination, a relentless builder, a man of prayer 🙏 and one who listens.
