@abrahamcera Saying Hello to the People of BLURT

BLURT!! What an interesting name. BLURT!!

Another platform where I can speak my mind. Honestly, I have been with other microblog platforms (such as Steemit) but I became inactive due to various reasons. And here I am, trying to enter microblogging once more. So here's my introductory post....

ABOUT ME

Same with Steemit, @mermaidvampire introduced me to Blurt. I was quite nervous to start blogging again; however, this pandemic makes me wanna give Blurt a try. Being in a work-from-home arrangement for almost how many months already, I think writing and writing in any microblog platform will make me sane. Also, who doesn't want to earn while blogging? It's earning while having fun. I'M IN.

Kidding aside, I am Abraham Cera, a twenty-five-year-old guy from Tacloban City, Philippines. And I am here to learn and to have fun. I am a kidney disease patient and was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) three years ago. Since then, I’ve been using Facebook as an escape from depression and self-pity. I’ve been asking for tips, pieces of advice, encouraging speeches, and empathy from strangers who also have kidney diseases. That's when I met @mermaidvampire. She introduced me to different platforms where I can write, interact, and earn. That sounds amazing, right?

RIGHT TO WRITE
I love to write- whether it’s a poem, a story, a blog, and/or even my own dreams- anything that tickles my mind. I will always write even if grammar fails me. Somehow, writing makes me calm and sane. When I entered UPV-Tacloban, I was one of those students with very low scores in English. As such, I have been practicing my grammar thru writing. I want to improve my English and I want to be a better version of myself. Although, I have been writing since my early elementary days. I was a journalist on our school paper. As of the moment, I am still working on my English and grammar; however, it won't stop me from joining various microblogging platforms. Work on our weaknesses and they'll be one of our strengths in the future.

TAKE ME EVERYWHERE
I love nature and I love travelling. I love visiting new places and interacting with people who have different approaches in life. Diversity at its best. With money and time, I would surely travel around the world as often as possible. Philippines alone has a lot to offer. That’s one of the few things I could contribute in Blurt- sharing all my adventures. Different people have different reasons on why they travel. As for me, I travel because I always feel closer to God. It sure is a humbling experience to know that you are a part of something big, of something significant, of something special. It reminds you that you have a purpose in life and it's a good way of de-stressing. In other words, travel/adventure is a process of change- metamorphosis.

SERVE THE PUBLIC, STAY FANTASTIC
Coastal Resource Management- that's basically what my job is all about. I'm working in an agency that assists different municipalities and/or cities in managing and regulating coastal/aquatic resources. However, I really wanted to be a doctor which focuses on research. I want to find cures on untreatable diseases. I want to study more. I want to understand life more. I want to help. But I guess that won't happen anymore due to financial and health reasons. NEXT DREAM...

As of now, I want to be a professor/scientist. I want to make lots of researches. Maybe I can find love in Marine Biology or Microbiology. I'll be studying more, that's for sure. I would surely pursue this dream after I'm done with my kidney failure. Heal me, oh Lord. Or maybe I would stay with my current job. It pays bills. Nevertheless, I want to serve the people. I want to make significant contributions to our society. I want to serve the public and stay fantastic.

BREATH, SURVIVE, LIVE
As what I have mentioned above, I am a kidney disease patient and I undergo dialysis: twice a week, every week. This disease is too expensive and too annoying. There are a lot of stuff that you have no/little control of- blood pressure, memory, fluid intake, hemoglobin, creatinine, among others. BUT I REFUSE TO DIE!

There are a lot of things that I miss so much. I miss eating chocolates. I miss eating without studying the food's sodium, potassium, and phosphorus contents. I miss drinking lots of water. I miss eating fruits as many as I can. I miss lifting weighs. I wanna go to the gym but my condition doesn't allow me. I wanna travel without checking my dialysis schedule. AAAAAHHHHH!!! Also, having this disease makes you experience significant weight changes in just a matter of three days. After dialysis, my weight would be 48 kilos; and after three days, it would reach 52 kilos. After dialysis, it would drop to about 48 kilos again. Sigh!

It may sound cliche but everything happens for a reason. I know that these are all part of a big master plan. On the bright side, I should have been dead three years ago. But I'm still breathing. If that ain't badass, I don't know what is? Thank God for the blessings. SO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH, GUYS.

I have finally introduced myself. Well, that was me. And I promise to post significant stories here- about my disease, adventures, life (anything under the sun). And I promise to learn more about BLURT.

Count your blessings!!!
