It's probably about two things: the bull market. Downvotes are a tool for manipulating the number of generated tokens. If you downvote, the people concerned do not get a penny and these tokens go back to the pool and there is more for old-timers.
And what always happens - the mentality of new users. If you're a leftist, it's ok, but if you're a rightist, it's out. The balance was disturbed on hive a long time ago and we simply have another Reddit there...

I also wrote quietly on hive for a long time until I wrote criticism of downvotes. although it was an exhaustive study of over 2,500 words with a reliable approach to the topic, short after that the downvoting from hivewathers began. No matter what I wrote, there was always an excuse.
