"Hmm, the less the material, the higher the price, no?"

Happy New Year!

One of my resolutions was to start blogging on Blurt.

But...

For the last 2 1/2 years, I totally ignored the automatic Blurt account created for me in July of 2020.

That was the time when I powered down everything and took a long hiatus from the blogging scene.

Upon Blurt's launch, free accounts had been gifted - under a sort of "Grandfather Clause", to all old Steemit account holders.

Anyway, I soon realized that I had no idea how to access my Blurt account.

I didn't remember safeguarding a password or recording the private keys anywhere?

After 10 frustrating days of searching for my Blurt password/keys, I was almost ready to give up and create a new Blurt account.

When I tried the free account option on the Blurts TG, I was surprised to see my usual avatar and ID on the chat page?

And of course, that meant no free account available for me since it was obvious that I already had one.

Plus, I wasn't in the mood to explain the details of my situation and show everyone on the channel how careless I'd been with the password and private keys.

Then it dawned on me.

If my Blurt account was automatically setup because of my old Steemit account, why not try the old private keys?

And viola!

Instant Blurt account access via my old, invalid Steemit account keys!

I immediately tried to change the password and generate a new set of private keys, but I didn't have enough Blurt in my account for the process.

Hell, I didn't even have 1.41 Blurt to submit a post onto the Blockchain!

So, in rapid succession, I did the following:

I quickly learned which exchanges listed BLURT and chose Probit.

Then the "Trading Pair Merry-Go-Round" began.

It really sucks that exchanges limit and engineer their trading pairs to maximize profits; while users are forced to make multiple trades to finally end up with the crypto they actually need.

In my case, that meant getting Blurt into my account wallet.

For security reasons, the sooner I had a fresh password and keys, the better.

And believe it or not, this was the fastest way for me to complete that mission:

  • Withdrew some XCUR tokens from my NFT earnings on Curate and sent them to Kucoin.

  • Traded XCUR for USDT.

  • Traded USDT for XRP (for an ultra-cheap transfer).

  • Withdrew XRP to the Probit Exchange.

  • Traded XRP for USDT.

  • Traded USDT for BTC.

  • Traded BTC for BLURT.

  • Withdrew the BLURT from Probit and sent them to my Blurt account wallet.

Whew!

I'm so glad Kucoin and Probit have miniscule trading fees!

Now here I am on Blurt with a new password and private keys.

I'm really hoping this new journey on Blurt is part of an awesome 2023!

Oh, and BTW, Salutations!

That said, here's "the intro that almost wasn't".

Brief Bio:

At the end of this month on January 31, 2023, I will be 60 years young and retired for almost two decades.

Believing that the traditional education system was asinine, boring and a waste of my time, I dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life — while working full-time as a U.S. Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of my great fear of heights and deep water, I performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and executed hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.

After 24 years of active duty, I retired in Asia in 2004.

Since then, I’ve been a full-time, single father and actively pursuing my varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Fitness, Computer Science, Spiritualism, Blockchain, Science Fiction, Cryptocurrency, NFT Digital Art — plus more hobbies much too boring or bizarre for most folk).

I live on an island paradise with my young adult daughter, longtime girlfriend and two dogs.

Just for fun, try this.

Using your preferred search engine, just enter “@jaichai”, “Inside JaiChai’s Head” or “TheJaiChai” and you’ll see the eclectic (aka disorganized) array of topics I’ve written about or depicted in my digital art.

After I get a feel for what flavor of content is (or is not) popular here, I’ll jump right in.

Fair Warning:

I’m a contrarian.

My musings are clearly from an alternate or unconventional vantage point and drenched in the sardonic humor resulting from 5 1/2 decades’ worth of lessons from the “School of Hard Knocks”.

Alrighty, then.

I’m concluding this TLDR intro right now.

So, learn, laugh and connect, shall we?

May you and yours be well and loving life today.
