Instagram is launching a dedicated field on user profiles in order to share their pronouns.
Users of course could previously denote their pronouns in their bio sections, but now Instagram is implementing a standalone field alongside the existing sections for name, username, website, and bio. Pronouns will appear next to user names.
“The new field is available in a few countries,” the company said on their Twitter profile “with plans for more.”
The photo they uploaded shows that creators will be able to add up to 4 pronouns to their profiles so that their followers know how to properly address them. These pronouns can be removed or edited and a toggle switch enables creators to make their pronouns only visible to their followers
