A Campsite Inverted and Re-imagined

in inktober •  2 months ago

This one turned out pretty. So, the #inktober prompt was camp. I thought I would create a campsite at night.

For my picture of a black hole, I experimented with creating an inverted image. I started with a white page. I then drew dark where I wanted light and used the "invert" function to switch the dark and light colors.

To create the campsite, I drew an inverted image. I made the moon and the fire blue. I colored the lake orange and added red trees. I made the sky a solid bright yellow.

This is the base image: Since I wanted the image to be dark, I kept the base image a washed out pastel.

I imported the image into GIMP and pressed the "invert" button to create a positive image which I put on Verify Your Brain

Finally, I imported the base image into Night Cafe which returned the image at the top of this page.
