Two serpents, yes. Sort of like the two Adams. The first Adam who ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and Yeshua who is the last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45) who gives the fruit of the tree of life to those who overcome (Revelation 2:7).
The serpent on the pole that was lifted up in the wilderness represents the wisdom of Yeshua, but the modern serpent on the pole represents the wisdom of the world: it is the staff of Aesculapius, the god of medicine, the staff with the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, the serpent who deceives the whole world.
