The 2 Extreme Countries

in india •  2 years ago

Living in 2 different Countries gives me a very different perspectives to life, especially when these 2 Countries are poles apart from each other in many ways. Oman is a very small Country in comparison to India in Size and in terms of Population. Oman is around 300K area where as India is 3.3 million kms area so there is no comparison area wise. The population of Oman is 5 million whereas population of India is 1.38 billion. This is what makes all the difference. The population of Oman is much lesser compared to India with the land area it has. If you read the history of Oman, you will find that 50 years back Oman was a complete Desert and there were very few people living in this region. The whole of Country has developed in the last 50 years. You can also say it is quite a brand-new country just like Dubai. Whereas India if you read the history, you will see that it was one of the already flourishing countries of the world until the Britishers arrived and destroyed the Country.

Oman is like a paradise to stay everything here is well organized, you have good infrastructure, good environment, facilities. Once in a year may you will get stuck up in a traffic jam but in India you will get stuck in traffic jam almost every time you leave your home. It is never sure what time you will reach your destination. There are smaller roads and more traffic. The other contrast is that in Oman you will never find anyone begging on the road, it is against the ministry rule and if anyone is caught will be penalized. But the thing is there is no need for people to beg here because the government takes care if you need financial assistance. In India you will find beggars on almost every road of the city.

The other beauty of Oman is that there are no tall rise structures here. The tallest building permissible to be built in the Country is 10 floors. This really preserves the beauty of this place. Whereas India, especially my city Mumbai nowadays I have to stretch my neck to see where the building ends. Nowadays we have 100+ Storeys also. It is becoming a concrete jungle, just like Dubai.

But then there are many good things about my Country which I miss here in this foreign land. The Culture being the most important, the celebrations of festivals. India has so many festivals that almost every month there is a reason to celebrate and there are family gatherings. Oman is a very beautiful Country and has a stunning coastline but it still misses the greenery where India tops. Some parts of India like going to the South Ooty, Mysore or going to Kerala you will see lots of greenery in these places. Just stepping out of Mumbai city and 2 hours away are some beautiful hill stations with lush green fields and mountains and I love those views. India has some strong history to showcase like the Taj Mahal of India, Ajanta Ellora Caves, Sun Temple, Delwara Temples, these are 100s of years old. You will not find any such places in Oman.

While Oman is a very organized country, I still feel that one does not get the real exposure of life in this place, because it is so well protected and everything is so fine here that hardly one realizes what living in adverse conditions can be like. You kind of live a la la land life. Whereas India that's not the case. You are hit with hard realities of life and you are well prepared to face life.

Anyways I enjoy living in both these places and get the best of both the worlds. But any day I am fonder of India.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
