Yesterday was one of my friend's birthdays and she had planned a Lunch party with a few of us. I was working so was not sure if I could make it or not. Luckily, I could leave my office early to make it for the party. But I goofed up, the place where the party was held is a Restaurant and they have 2 locations. I reached to another location which was not the party one, and then again from there I had to take a cab and go to the other one. I was supposed to reach by 1.30 p.m. but with all this goof up I reached by 2. I was feeling bad because I delayed all of them. Nevertheless, once I reached, we had a wonderful time. The name of the restaurant is Begum's, it's an India specialty restaurant. The most famous dish over here is the Mutton Biryani.
The story of this place goes like this. Some 20 years back one Indian lady who shifted to Muscat from Hyderabad wanted to do something of her own. She started with home catering business of Mutton Biryani and it became a big success. From there she went on to opening a Restaurant and now they have 2 branches in the city. Quite a success story.
Their food menu is Hyderabadi which is more of Kebabs and Tandoor and needless to say their Biryanis are the best in town. Though yesterday we did not order Biryani. We ordered Kebabs and other gravy dishes. The restaurant is very well known for Nov-vegetarian food and at the same time they also have good options for vegetarians.
This is a nov-veg platter, it's a mix of Chicken and meat
A veg tandoor platter, which is a mix of potatoes, paneer and veg kababs
With this platter only we were almost full, so then we thought of ordering just 1 main course dish each of veg and non-veg.
One was chicken korma and other was mix veg kadhai. Both were super delicious
After the hearty meal it was the cake cutting time. One of the girls had arranged for the cake
And she did the cake cutting ceremony
It was a nice fun afternoon with the gang.
