The way electric bulbs scatter light

Hello #BLURT Family. How are you all?
When man can fully control the power of electricity, a new era begins for the human race. Since the availability of electricity, various electric devices have been invented. These instruments have become an integral part of everything from our daily lives. The role of these electric devices in the development of civilization can never be denied.

One of the different electric powered devices is the electric lamp or light bulb. This device was invented about two hundred years ago. With the development of science, its structure continues to improve. Over time, this discovery has changed the whole design of our homes and workplaces.

The journey of light bulbs started after converting electricity into light energy. And it is still improving. At present, this electric lamp is an integral part of various household appliances and household appliances and other electrical appliances.

The discovery of the electric lamp---

No one alone can be credited for inventing the electric lamp. Different scientists have improved it at different times. In 1802, scientist Humphrey Davy invented the first electric lamp. The name of the lamp he made was Arc Lamp. This lamp could not last long. Moreover, there were many mistakes in this lamp. But this did not end the research on electric lamps. Several scientists have worked to improve this lamp.

Basically, when an electric current flows through a certain substance, that substance generates light energy. This whole process is done in a glass shell rich in inert gas. In this way they can provide uninterrupted light. With this theory in mind, scientists continue to update electric lamps.

The scientist Thomas Alva Edison has been instrumental in improving the lamp. The lamp he designed is an example of a modern electric lamp. The lamps he made were suitable for home use. According to various sources, he is called the father of modern electric lamps. Electric lamps have been illuminating us in different forms at different times. This evolution of lamps depends on the excellence of technology and their efficiency. This article discusses the periodic evolution of electric lamps.

Start the journey with the arc lamp----

Leaving a small gap between the two carbon rods, the carbon rod ignites when electricity is applied to it. The two carbon rods are heated to a temperature of 3,600 C. Bright light is created by the flow of electricity between these heated carbons.

Since the arc lamp is the first version of the electric lamp, several errors were found in it. For example, carbon rods had to be replaced at regular intervals. This lamp emitted harmful ultraviolet rays. When they were used, a kind of buzzing sound was produced. If the light was on, it could not last more than 75 hours continuously. Moreover, it would emit harmful carbon monoxide gas. Due to its many harmful aspects, it was only a matter of time before the next version of this lamp was released.

The modern structure of the electric lamp comes from the incandescent bulb---

The image that floats in front of our eyes when we use the word ‘bulb’ now is called incandescent bulb.

The incandescent bulb is lit by an electric current passing through the filament of the lamp. This filament is placed in a glass shell filled with inert gas. A rare metal called tungsten is used as a filament. This substance would make the light brighter. Also the production and energy cost of this lamp was relatively much less.

Halogen bulbs are improved versions of incandescent bulbs----

The discrepancy between halogen bulbs and ordinary incandescent bulbs is only in one place. And that is the gas trapped inside the glass of the bulb. Halogen gas is used in halogen lamps instead of inert gas. Only bromine and iodine are used in this lamp as halogen gas.

Although the first halogen bulbs were made in 182, they were not suitable for public use. Many researchers faced many obstacles in making this lamp. Finally, in 1955, two engineers, Elmer Friedrich and Emmet Wiley, created the first usable halogen lamp. In 1959, they patented their own lamp. Then by the 1980s their lamp models were further improved and made usable.

The main advantage of halogen lamps is that they have a longer lifespan than previously discovered lamps. Tungsten is also used as a filament. However, it is much brighter than other lamps. So these lamps are used more in the workplace. Halogen lamps are given more prominence in the field of stage lighting, film making, security system etc. However, this lamp also has some disadvantages. Notable among the disadvantages is that these lamps are very hot. So you should not dare to hold them empty handed while burning. Moreover halogen bulbs may explode.
