Grasshoppers - Although they are called grasshoppers because they roam on the grass, grasshoppers are insects of the genus Silifera, which belongs to the genus Orthoptera. They are also sometimes called small-horned grasshoppers to distinguish them from crickets. On the other hand, species that change color and usage depending on population density are called locusts.
SCIENTIFIC CLASSIFICATIONS: - WORLD-ANEMILIA PART-ARTHROPODA SUB-HEXAFODA CLASS-INSECTA CLASS-ORTOPTRA BODY CHARACTERISTICS The body consists of three segments (head, chest and abdomen), three pairs of articulated legs, complex clusters carrying three straight, one pair of antennae (antlers). Their bodies are slender, oblong, cylindrical, segmented and bilaterally symmetrical.
They are relatively large insects and can grow up to 8-9 cm in length. Their body color is yellowish green or brown. In many cases there are dark spots of different colors on the body. The body color of many of these species coincides with the habitat, known as camouflage.
Habitat of grasshoppers: - Different species of grasshoppers can be seen in almost all types of settlements, but since grasshoppers like grass or leaves, they live quite comfortably in low places. However, they are not seen living in wetlands. In adverse weather they migrate in large numbers, can go up to about 15 kilometers a day.Number of species: - About twenty thousand grasshoppers have been identified all over the world and twenty species of grasshoppers in Bangladesh so far. There are several common species, Schistocerca americana, Romalea microptera, and Poekilocerus pictus.
Grasshopper's food: - Grasshopper is a herbivorous animal. As soon as the eggs hatch, the nymphs begin to eat any small, easily digestible trees, grasses or new tender branches around the grasshopper. Once or twice the shells are removed, and when they are a little older, they consume solid vegetable food. Young grasshoppers, like adults, feed on specific vegetative foods.
Then grass, leaves and grains come up as the main food in the food table. Most grasshoppers collect food from plants, and one or two species feed on specific plants. Grass as art and symbol

In the 1999 Disney / Pixar animated film A Bug's Life, the opposition is a grasshopper group led by Hopper as the main villain. Grasshoppers are sometimes used as symbols. During the Greek archeological era, the grasshopper was the symbol of the Athenian police.
