Hypocrisy in religion

Most times being extremely religious is a toxic trait, religious persons always believe that they are good and without flaws but they are full of flaws and disadvantages.
I have a first hand experience, let me start by narrating a story of how hypocritical and pretentious they are, I met this good boy during my university days, it all started with invitations to church activities, as a fresher in the institution, I honored his invite and because of that we came closer, I noticed him often in prayer meetings and assembles, he was a loud prayer and also he teaches condemnation messages often, the theme of his messages is always judgmental and full of condemnation, it made me to see him as a righteous and perfect person.

I went for evening reading at a block close to his apartment one day, something unusual happened that day, the light went off and darkness was approaching, so I headed to his room to get a lamp or recharge light, outside the door, I saw a female slippers, but I concluded it was another sister, so I opened the door and walked in , I was in shock when I saw him having sex, I ran out and acted like nothing happened. In my head I was still thinking of how loud he is while condemning others, I was in shock and I never came to church and he wasn’t bold to come after me.

I love real people, why condemn what you do, why make others feel stupid, because you want to be seen as righteous and flawless, If I knew he was capable of doing such, I wouldn’t have jump out shocked, I would have just respected his privacy and still be friends with him, but because of how he has pictured himself to be righteous and perfect I couldn’t go close to him .
I have also had this hypocritical character from friends and family that are righteous and claim to be saints and at the end of the day I don’t feel comfortable or safe around them.

I understand the fact that being in a religious is safe and healthy, but making it look like you are perfect and being judgmental is what makes it annoying and unfriendly around others, they should put more efforts in love and respect.
Show good examples in love and respect and not condemnation, it makes people comfortable and around you and your fate .
We should accept ourselves for who we are and not judge one another.
We are all humans and non of us is higher than temptation, we should grow in understanding and love.
