A little more and Christmas. By the way, I hasten to congratulate you all on this wonderful holiday ... otherwise I won't have time. I get lost in my household chores and forget that the Internet exists at all.
In the distant, distant times, by the way, not in Russia, some nationalities had Christmas holidays. They began on December 25 and ended on January 5.
Families prepared for this holiday. Children came to their parents for Christmas, a Christmas log was prepared, which was placed in the fireplace and it was supposed that it would burn for 14 days.
Do not forget that Peter I invented decorating the New Year's tree, and earlier houses were decorated with sprigs of holly and mistletoe.
And the custom was like this - kissing under the sprigs of mistletoe. Therefore, young people tried to concentrate precisely in such places, because at such a moment no one scolded for a kiss and lovers could openly express their feelings.
Then, as you should know, everything was divided into Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Lutheranism and other faiths, and the holidays were also divided.
In Russia, more than a dozen years have passed since the Christmas holidays have been restored, but in Belarus everything is at a crossroads.
After all, holidays are celebrated here everywhere, both Orthodox and Catholic. We have two Christmas, two Easter, two Trinity and various small holidays like Ilya, Spas, also split in two with an interval of two weeks.
And if the family, like my son's, is Orthodox-Catholic, then by Orthodox Christmas the tree is already naked.
Therefore, my friends, I have been dressing a pine tree for many years.
But this year she changed her rules altogether and made just a huge coniferous bouquet in a floor vase.
My cat loves to pose and, of course, she did not disregard such an innovation. And yes, it's so interesting to hang balls on branches, he will definitely offer his help.
I love balls and these toys I have a full box.
In my New Year's composition, I used spruce and pine branches, as well as a garland for the smallest number of lights.
So, in a cozy warm house with a cat and a dog, we celebrated the New Year, and we will also celebrate Christmas.
And our Christmas tree will stand for a long time in a dress of balls and tinsel.
