The Decentralised Hive Fund (DHF) distributes about $700,000 in Hive to favoured developers, who immediately sell. The Hive Stabalisation Fund is also constantly selling Hive to maintain the Hive Dollar at $1. Steem simply allows the market to decide the price of Steem Dollars (about $3 right now) and Blurt decided having a second coin is stupid - both these approaches are wiser than what Hive is doing.
Because of the above selling pressures, Hive may struggle in alt season.
Looks like Hive's price is back to 23 cents.
