Perhaps we all know that the whales on Hive platform have been known to like to downvote their own platform users. There have been many instances of downvotes that have caused complaints, frustration, and even anger on the part of users.

For example, below are some of them.

Why is this happening? In particular, it begs the question, why do whales downvote so much against the users of their own platform? Don't they need a large number of users to attract investors? If they downvote their users that way, won't they go away?

One of the reasons they count valid for a downvote is "too much reward.", also known as reward disagreement. So, if one day our post there gets big enough rewards, be prepared to get downvoted, because it may be considered too big a reward.

First, I agree that we should downvote spam posts, that the same content is posted over and over again automatically. Similarly, for content that is misleading (scam) or steals someone else's articles (plagiarism), these should be downvoted.

But what about reward disagreement reason? Currently, there are many whales over there who downvoted for this reason. Of course, this causes frustration and even anger among victimized users. What's wrong with posts having large rewards? After all, there are no rules limiting the size of the reward.

If the reason of "too much reward" is considered valid, how is it different from the reasons of envy and jealousy? Something like, "You're just a small minnow, why should your posts get big rewards? If it's me, the big rewards are fine because I'm a whale."

So, I don't think that "too much reward" is a valid reason to downvote . And we should not downvote based on this reason, especially when we are whales with great power. Because with great power comes great responsibility.

Well. Its very interesting to see. Exact Explanation by the gif.

i honestly think they are just people who had no power in life - got a taste on steemit, ended up fighting amongst themselves, lost the power, then tried to gain the power on new platform. As soon as any creative starts dong consistently well who is not in their 'circle' they start a campaign to downvote them.

the irony is they think everyone else is taking their control and power, either the government, ,or justin sun when they are doing the EXACT same thing to everyone else.

acidyo one of the ones doing it does all the things he flags others for like having multiple accounts, just posting stupid memes etc, it's rediculous.
