When People come at Me, clearly unwilling to discuss rationally, I just say, "Yup. You're right. Have a nice life." My father taught Me that You can't argue with someOne who's agreeing with You. So... Though it is clear I don't agree, They cannot continue arguing. Some will weakly come back with something like, "I have a wonderful life, thanks." I just ignore it.

But this approach works phenomenally well.

I will say, I don't think I have ever been fearful of not being accepted. I'm very used to it, having been that child in the class that no One wanted on Their team, always denigrated and such. So I don't care at all.

I don’t think for me I’ve cared about ppl liking stuff my personal issue has prob more been thinking how exposed you are putting all your business links, personal stuff on social and then how unhinged some people are when they come at you. But I think over time you just let go more and more we can’t live in cotton wool and just have to enjoy life. I sometimes think about a life without social media tho but you would need more of a shop front or a really good mailing list or something these days. I guess you could have a faceless channel but then you’re not building any kind of brand and even with art or collecting plants or whatever people do want to see who’s behind it these days.

Well, I have been "faceless" on the web for 30+ years... LOL! And I do think I have a brand - "Anonymous Amaterasu." But I can see Your point.

I think it’s ok for writing but for art I believe people like to connect to the artist and you kind of want to connect yourself to your art too really. You can actually make a whole brand out of being anonymous really it is all possible but it takes a lot of work to hide who you are if your selling products lol

Ah, true. Was not thinking in terms of art, and I guess I should have. Haha!

There is a meme about this tho

Exactly!

The absolute best come back online that makes me chuckle for ages is ‘ can you just stop replying to me’ 🤡

Rather than just walk away and leave they have to have the last word and try to tell you have to stop replying. I know it’s a waste of time but I don’t let them have the last word ever it’s too amusing

That is one of the biggest things that I had to overcome was people talking negatively and also playing the compare game on how many views a video would get compared to other people. Subscriber counts and all that stuff. It was really debilitating and it is exhausting pumping enough content and being on enough platforms to build that strong following up.

Yeah I think putting anything out on social media these days is a process on being ok with yourself and everyone naturally starts at a different level of their own personal insecurities. Not only is it just online but if you’re promoting an actual business or self employed you know that’s all involved too. I do think we were all happier before social media really but now it’s here it’s hard to avoid.

I personally never cared about likes and view counts but I felt vulnerable I guess when ppl came at me thinking just how weird and unhinged are these ppl? Then also thinking they can come at your business and work etc but I think these days it’s happened to so many ppl it doesn’t work the same anymore. People are standing up for themselves a lot more now. It’s defo a process tho.

As real as the super mute function in Blurt .
;-)

Muting someone isn’t cancelling someone that’s preserving personal space and boundaries and a huge part of personal freedom. Freedom of speech is freedom of speech that includes the freedom of not listening to people you don’t want to listen to either. No one tells a woman to stay in an abusive relationship and you shouldn’t stay around online abuse either. Some people are very over sensitive and block over the smallest things but that’s also their freedom and personal choice. Trying to claim choosing who you have in your space and circle and censoring speech are the same things is absolutely wild.

Trying to claim choosing who you have in your space and circle and censoring speech are the same things is absolutely wild.

All good ,. in your private space ,. but this still is a SOCIAL MEDIA place ,. as in a place where you blog in a public realm ,. where your blog is open to be questioned by the public .
The comments section is a public space ,. you deciding who can or can not comment on you ,. IN PUBLIC ,. is censoring speech , is canceling voices in a public space ,. it is way beyond muting , for muting is something you do for only yourself . Muting for all others in the public space is canceling someones voice for everybody else to .

So no matter how you twist and turn with things unrelated to this whole point ,. you are playing a part in the cancel culture big time .

Choosing who you have in your space and circle on a social blog site open to all public is censoring and canceling speech . If you want control on who is in your circle ,. start a telegram channel .

But hey ,. we know exactly why Blurt is worth something close to nothing and going down fast ,. it is not growing it became the garbage the weak minded , attention seeking , emotional immature users wanted it to be ,. a "safe" space . Where the coin is the product .

🤮

Well we can beg to disagree here I don’t believe blocking people who are disrupting your personal space is a negative thing at all they can go off on their own page to their hearts content no one is taking away their freedom. Plus look at you, opidia who I have blocked I believe coming at me from a new account so it’s not really that difficult if you really want to talk to someone is it. Have a nice day.
