Hello everyone in this post, I would like to share about auspicious days for weddings in Bali.
There are a lot of wedding ceremonies or wedding parties that take place at this moment in Bali island. The Balinese will only conduct on auspicious day. Usually, we do this by consulting the Balinese lunar calendar and also the priests. Since all the Balinese use the same calendar, the wedding ceremonies take place at the same time throughout the island.
We do not use get married based on good dates, or Gregorian calendar. We only stick to our Balinese lunar calendar. The lunar calendar does not just talk about wedding but other aspects of life. For example, when to start a new business, when to start farming, or even when is a good day to cut your hair. So, there are so many aspects that you can can consult the Balinese calendar. While it is not a great idea to follow that calendar to find schedule to cut our hair, the big ceremony such as wedding has to be done on the auspicious day according the calendar.
It is very common to have more than one wedding ceremony invitation during "the wedding season." This week I have to attend to three wedding ceremonies. First I have to attend a wedding ceremony of my wife's niece that's located in North Bali about 1.5 hours drive from where I live. Another time I will have to attend a different wedding ceremony back to back. One is where my uncle son is getting married. Another one is my friend's relative also conduct a wedding for their daughter.
Well, if you have a big family or a big network, you maybe attending even five or six weddings on the same day.
