“I looked forward to seeing you,”
All hours of the day and night.
“Talking to you,”
With words which always seemed right.
“Touching you,”
With a free and easy hand.
“Tasting you,”
With a love never bland.
“Everything.
I couldn’t get enough of you.”

A fire ablaze
Burning the past
Consuming the years
Devoured fast
The memories
Of what used to be
Before finding this bliss
It’s amiss
But it’s new and fresh
Kindled by rage
Turn the page
Give into the flesh.

New and different
What did you expect?
No longer robotic
Can’t keep away
Each day despotic
When forced to keep away
From your new love
By old ties
Keep a secret
Til the love dies
And step forward
Light the flame
Avoid the blame
And hope it stays burning
Maybe you’re learning
Probably not
Never a thought
Of right or wrong
But after this long
What does it matter
Scatter
And be away from me.
