This video is of my dog walk yesterday using a DJI Mobile 3 Gimbal & iPhone XR for the first time.
Not much to say other than it seems to work alright. I need to familiarize myself with the controls more but generally speaking it did work for me “straight out of the box”. It balanced very well and auto tracked Jerry’s ass till moving from screen. I imagine using sport mode would improve speed for tracking movements but loose some smoothness.
Downside, only designed for phones and my case makes balancing a little finicky. With magnets for the car mount it is off balance and either needs to be removed or I spend as much time fiddling with balance. I may put marks on the case to mark the balance alignment as a work around.
Upside, helps stabilize video with my current unstable steps. The auto target focusing will be huge for recording my vlogs. Meanwhile being able to setup shots for walks can literally fall to click of a button with pre programmed scenes. Using the tripod I can easy capture all those epic “walking past” shots while out so…
This has been a long missing piece to my arsenal and cements that my creation is largely recorded with a mobile device!
