I also wonder if this is more about CBDC "stablecoins" and allowing holdings in the "crypto" asset rather than just the fiat and derivatives. ;-)

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that.
I did read it and that side seems to be left quite vague - and yet far too "positive" about "stablecoins" - I've been reading such official docs for maybe 4 years now, eg IMF ECB etc, and can sometimes smell what is "unsaid". The best thing is to find anything that actually contradicts the "CBDC stablecoins" scenario. Thanks for bringing up this topic.
