A great day to be alive as we head into Autumn

The poliac challenge has begun and after a slow start I was pretty determined to hit 10K at least today.

My wife has had a bit of a health scare, so she’s determined to get fitter. That means an early morning rise for both of us and a 3 K walk before breakfast - it was a beautiful morning, with a light breeze to cool us as we walked in the pre dawn light.

A series of Internet problems forced me to abandon my planned day’s work and after some debate, I decided to embark on what I’d call a medium grade walk.
The walk was made all the better by this stunning display of flowers I came across by accident. I’m told that they could be Moonflowers or Morning Glory, either way I intend to ask the owner for a cutting.

Today was the first day that I’ve felt capable of stretching out a bit as my foot seems mostly recovered. This enabled me to jog for a slightly longer length of time than I’ve been doing.

By noon, I was approaching the 10K mark and settled in to try and get some work done in the afternoon.

The lowlight of the day was being swooped by what must be a feral magpie. It came at me low and hard, forcing me to duck out of the way. It came back for two more goes before being satisfied thatI was moving out of its territory. It is quite odd. Swooping season is September/October and most Magpies are pretty placid outside of this season.

Anyway, it missed and I’m alive and well.
Keep punching!
