All the activities picked in actifit are true when you are manning 36 choir "flock" 🤣 ... including the "loud projected command"
It is the time of the year 🎄 with a wonderful Christmas cheer! 🎶
Not when you are a choir conductor though 🤪
This is the time when your biceps and triceps are tested flinging your arms for 40 minutes making sure the tempo is on par with the band...
Not to mention chasing after restless kiddies who think they can go rouge during practice 😅
Then gliding around segment teams to hear their harmony out, making sure they are not out of tune
Plus heading off to the main hall to make sure sound checks are proper and discussing final arrangements.
Rehearsal time is always a all hands on deck for the conductor.
It has been a decade I have been spoiled with just being "part of the flock"
Now, almost in need of a "shepherd's staff" the mantle fell on my hands for this Christmas.
It is both nerve wrecking , 3 - 4 hour a day sleep , and excited at the same time.
I had to rely on a stack of mint drops just to keep my throat hydrated and cooling with 6 to 7 sets of recordings for parts preparation.
This is a special scenario because we have kids this round and we needed recordings sent to them so that they can practice with their parents
Overall, no doubt it was tiring, but am really grateful for helping hands (apart from the agree to disagree moments) that made the rehearsal happened.
On Sunday, it will be the actual day
Will we be able to pull it off?
Much prayers are needed! 🤣
