Golf and Philosophy

Golf is philosophy in practical form. Golf is in other words practical philosophy. How is this the case? It is rather simple. Philosophy is the abstract endeavour to find the meaning of life. Golf is the practical endeavour to maintain that meaning of life. Or something like that.

It is funny how life sometimes play out. My life has been so busy that I do not have time for golf. It was the first round in months. It obviously did not go so well. In any case, it was fun. The meaning of life constantly changes but golf stays constant.

People strive to find the meaning of life. Philosophers struggle to find consensus about the smallest of things. But golfers know the true meaning of living a good life, that is, to never pick up a club because once you start you are hooked on the sport and all of its nonsense!

Morality and Golf

Golf teaches you so many things. The list is never ending. One of the most important lessons of golf is to appreciate the small things. The shortest of putts also counts a stroke. The longest of drives will not help you if it is not straight. A wedge game that is on point can save you so many shots. But most importantly, it teaches you to bend down and smell the wild flowers.

Flowers in the Garden

Golf doesn’t really teach you to bend down and smell wild flowers. That is just my fancy way of moving onto the next topic. Smelling wild flowers are something important in my life. To look at them as well. Please enjoy these beautiful flowers.

Enjoy Life It Is Short
