Today I set off to join all of the folks around the world for the #FirstHikeDay. Youngest son and I also took our sweet pup with us so we also participated in #FirstDayWalkies.
This was our first time exploring the former lake bed. We saw some folks driving their ATVs, trucks, and other fellow walkers. There are well worn off road vehicle tracks which made our decision of where to walk an easy one. It was evening so we didn’t venture too far, but did get to a high point to plot future hiking areas.
As the grounds had loose rocks in some places and sand in others I was glad for my trusty hiking shoes and walking stick. All in all a good start to what I hope will be many more hikes to come in 2023.
