My Actifit Report Card: July 27 2022

I woke up early this morning with a plan to try to get a lot of steps in before it got too hot out, since it’s a #macfit competition day. But as I was drinking my coffee before I headed out I heard some people talking with raised voices and a strange crackling from outside. When I looked out my window I saw that one of the other buildings in my apartment complex was on fire, so that was pretty dramatic. It felt like it would be weird to go out for a walk while that was happening, so I didn’t head out until it looked like the fire department had everything under control.

I walked down the riverbank path to Alton Baker Park, and then continued to the Frohnmayer Bike Bridge and across to the UofO campus where I walked around a bit. Then I walked back home. After breakfast I walked to the grocery store and back.

Later in the morning I went out for another walk along the riverbank path, but by the time I got to the Delta Ponds area I felt like it was getting too hot so I turned around and headed home. It wasn’t too bad in the shade, but it was pretty uncomfortable in the direct sun and it was only going to get hotter the longer I stayed out there.
