Arsenal looked serious about putting in a good performance with a strong team against PSV as they look to push for early qualification but what we got was a less than stellar performance from a team who looks like they are running out of gas after a strong start.
Disorientated defenders, ineffective forwards, and non-existent midfielders resulted in a team running all over the pitch with unexpected ineptitude and PSV didn't look the gift horse in the mouth.
A solid win and a clean sheet are nothing more than they deserved as the ref was on Arsenal's side by not granting 3 of PSV's other goals. In spells of the second half here, it was as if Arsenal had suddenly gone back in time and back to the Unia era. Arsenal has not looked as ragged as this for months
PSV were deserving winners in front of their relentless crowd with Joey Veerman and Luuk de Jong striking the home side’s goals. The win blows the group wide open and keeps teams' hopes alive until next week’s final fixtures.
Arsenal will need to snap back into winning ways fast or this decline could cost them their season, it will be a make or break game this weekend against Notts and lets see if Mikel can break them out of this mid season funk.
