Mikel Gets £50 Mill To Strengthen In January

Arsenal has spent 100 million+ in two Summer transfer windows in a row and despite a few mistakes the team has started to take shape as a result, the team is top of the Premier League and they would quite like to stay there.

But keeping pace with city won't be easy when you have two injury-prone stars in Tierney and Partey and that probably means expecting Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to basically play all of the minutes, all of the time, which is impossible.

That means new recruits and Arsenal are seemingly ready to back Mikel Arteta with £50m in the January transfer market.

Mikel will need buy a new central midfielder and a new winger, as those are the two positions they tried and failed to strengthen sufficiently in the summer.

Maitland niles left on loan, Elneny has been injured and Lakonga hasn't been able to justify a place in the first team, and they need someone to help Partey. Tielemans was one option, but talk has gone quiet on that front and the same goes for Aouar.

Douglas Luiz is no longer an option after signing a new Aston Villa contract as they secure a new manager in former Gunners boss Unai Emery.

Now Arsenal is looking at 21-year-old Palmeiras star Danilo might be; he was the subject of £22m bid early in the season which was turned down but £26m might do the trick in January.

As for the winger, the names mentioned by The Sun are Shakhtar Donetsk’s young Ukrainian international Mykhaylo Mudryk and Villarreal’s exciting 20-year-old Yeremy, who would both be available for around £25m, which could be offset by finally moving on Pepe on a permanent deal.
