Kieran Tierney was once Arsenals most important player, his endless running, leadership, pace and ability to assist from the full-back position made him one of the best left-backs in the league. But injuries have really disrupting his progress, there was a time where he would be a no-brainer as Arsenal captain but his fitness and now form is the primary issue.
Every time you recover from injury it takes a while to get back up to match fitness and sharpness and that has seen him pipped to the armband by the more reliable Odegaard.
In addition, Arsenal brought in Zinchenko to take some of the strain off Tierney but he has also been injured and Tomiyasi has had to fill in at left-back for the last two games and has done reasonably well.
We're also hearing some great stuff coming out of the under-21 team with Dino Sousa earning rave reviews and I think it's only a matter of time before we move him into the first team. Then we also have Tavares who has been having a stormer of a season in France so if Tierney doesn't sort himself out, he won't be seeing a spot in the first team anytime soon.

This is no shade against his ability and what he can offer the team, but we need to see him start to show the performances that made him a fan favourite. It is encouraging that we can perform without him, but I do think he could be a vital part of pushing for the title and giving Zinchenko more freedom to play in the centre of the park
