Last week, I think I said that we had our best game of hockey yet this season. Well, this week again, I can confidently say we had our best game yet this season.
We were playing away at Devizes, a town about an hour away from Bath, so we were pleased that we managed to field a full squad with the maximum number of substitutes too.
It was a very even game with both teams only having a couple of scoring chances in the first half, which neither team could take. About halfway through the second half, one of our youngest players scored an excellent goal, putting us ahead. This fired up the opposition, which led to us having to defend for a prolonged period. The game became quite "robust," which unfortunately led to one of our defenders being sent off with about 5 minutes to go.
We held on well until less than a minute to go when the opposition finally scored their equaliser following a series of short corners. Alas, the game finished as a 1-1 draw, but at least we are starting to show some improvements.
Thank you for reading, and I'll be back tomorrow.
