On Saturday, as I do on most weeks, I had a hockey match. This week was our home derby, with the second team playing against the third team. The game was scheduled for 16:30, which at least gave plenty of time for the pitch to thaw out before we started.
Having arrived, there was still some doubt as to whether the game would go ahead or not as fog was reducing the visibility quite a bit. I definitely couldn't see the ball at the other end of the pitch, but it was deemed safe enough to play.
I play for the third team, so we are obviously the underdogs in this match, but as often happens with inter club games, we played much better than we have done for a long time. We still lost 1-2 but it was actually a very close competitive game. Unfortunately, my watch stopped while I was warming up, so I'm not sure how far I ran in this week's game.
Thank you for reading, and I'll be back tomorrow.
